Send

Send allows you to send a project file to one or more of your APOS Point of Sale devices.

Records

Select whether you wish to send All Records or Only Records that have been modified since the data was last received from one of your APOS devices. If Modified is chosen, please ensure that the program currently on the APOS unit matches the program you are sending to the unit. The only differences between the two should be the records modified in PcProg since you last received the program from your APOS. Sending modifications only to an APOS unit with a different program may corrupt your database and cause unpredictable behaviour on the APOS. If in doubt, it is best to send "All" records to the APOS.

Connect

The IP and Port entered in the Hardware Device Maintenance screen will be used to connect to each of your defined APOS devices. Each connected device will display a device type and corresponding Icon on a green background. If a device was not found a message box will allow you to cancel or continue the operation and the Unknown Device icon will be displayed on a red background. Hovering your mouse over the device icon will display a successful connection or an invalid device message with a possible reason the connection could not be completed.

If a device can not be reached, please ensure that your PC or Laptop running PcProg is connected to the same network as the APOS unit. Confirm the IP address of the APOS unit by pressing and holding the "OPTIMA GoPOS" logo on the GoPOS home screen. Ensure the parameters entered for each device in the Hardware Device Maintenance screen are correct. Use the Connect button to validate the IP and Port and that the APOS type, register number and serial number entered match the APOS device being connected to.

Export

The Export button will be enabled once you select one or more of the connected devices. To select multiple contiguous devices, select the first device then press down the SHIFT key on your keyboard and while the SHIFT key is pressed, select the last device in your range. To select multiple devices that are not contiguous, select the first device then press down the CTRL key on your keyboard and while the the CTRL key is pressed, select each subsequent device that you want to include in the selection. Once you are done selecting all your devices, you can release the CTRL key. Unknown devices may not be selected.

Please ensure that all transactions have been completed on each of the APOS units your are communicating with. Sending data to an APOS unit while transactions are being performed may lock up the database and could cause data corruption.

Click on the Export button to send the data to the chosen POS device or devices. The progress bar at the bottom of the screen will indicate the overall progress of the data transfer. When completed, a message will be displayed indicating whether the export was successful or not.

Unknown Device

Optima AP01 with an invalid connection message. PCProg was unable to connect to this device.  Please ensure that your PC or Laptop running PcProg is connected to the same network as the APOS unit. Confirm the IP address of the APOS unit by pressing and holding the "OPTIMA GoPOS" logo on the GoPOS home screen. Press on the "Register" button to return to register mode on the APOS. If you still can not connect to your device you may also attempt to communicate with your APOS directly from windows to confirm proper network connectivity. From the windows search (bottom left next to the windows start icon), type Ping XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX replacing all X's with the actual IP address of the APOS. If you do have proper network connectivity a "Reply From"  message will appear with each attempt to connect. If no reply was received, please check all network connections on the PC/Laptop running PcProg. Verify Microsoft Network and Internet Settings Properties to ensure your PC/Laptop also has a valid IP within the proper domain range. Normally, this means that the first 3 segments of the IPs would match and only the last segments of the IPs would differ.

Please note that if you intend on communicating with multiple units simultaneously and/or you want to use IRC, it is important to setup each APOS with a distinct, sequential Register Number and IP. For example if you have three units, Setting 16 - "Quantity of Registers in the Network" would be set to 3. Setting 15 - "Register Number" would be set to 1 for the first APOS and it's IP set to the Primary IP. The second APOS would have it's Register Number set to 2 and it's IP set to the Primary IP + 1. The third APOS would have it's Register Number set to 3 and it's IP set to the Primary IP + 2. Setting 15 - "Register Number" as well as IP need to be set directly on each APOS unit and must match the register number and IP entered in the Devices Maintenance module. Once all settings on GoPOS have been changed, you must restart the APOS for the changes to take effect.
